Nature of the agreement

  1. This agreement (“the Agreement”) sets out the Terms of Service (“Terms”) regarding the tutoring services provided or supplied by IB Tutoring (“IBT” or “We”) and you or, if applicable, your parent/legal guardian (“the Student” or “You”).

  2. If you are under the age of 18, you will need to have your parent/legal guardian enter into this agreement on your behalf. In such a case, the Student’s parent/legal guardian must ensure compliance to this agreement.

  3. By engaging IBT, including trial lessons, full lessons, IA / EE reviews, and any other services, you agree to the terms and conditions of this agreement

 

Scope of Services

Tutoring

  1. IBT will provide tutoring services to you based on the International Baccalaureate (“IB”) subjects requested by you within an agreed upon time frame.

  2. All IBT tutors have completed the IB and have been trialled and trained by the IBT Team to guarantee they can conduct sessions in a professional and effective manner

  3. External support from tutors can include basic questions but they cannot mark any work or give extensive feedback outside of tutoring hours

  4. IBT tutors reserve the right to decline additional work outside of tutoring hours

  5. We have no obligation to provide any third party materials throughout tutoring, however, we may do so at our own discretion

  6. Any inability for the lesson to take place based upon your own insufficient technologies or other relevant materials does not give rise to any refunds or compensation

  7. All IBT tutors and employees are IBT resources and use of such resources outside of the approved IBT context is prohibited unless approved by IBT management. Failure to comply, may result in legal action

  8. IBT does not guarantee any improvement in marks or academic performance based upon this service

 

IA/EE Review

  1. IBT will provide a detailed review based on the document sent to us via email.

  2. If the wrong draft is sent to us, IBT reserves the right to charge for this in full regardless

  3. All IBT markers have been trialled and trained by the IBT Team to guarantee they can conduct sessions in a professional and effective manner

  4. Minor clarifications on your review will be facilitated in due time by the IBT team

  5. If any additional questions are deemed to be too extensive, IBT reserves the right to request you book an additional class to obtain a comprehensive response

  6. IBT does not guarantee any improvement in marks based upon this service

 

Cancellation and rescheduling

  1. A session may be cancelled or rescheduled so long as a minimum of 24 hours from the session commencement time is provided by email communication, and this will be credited back to your account.

  2. If a lesson is cancelled or rescheduled within 24 hours irrespective of the reasons, IBT reserves the right to charge in full for this class.

  3. If you are late to a session, this time will not be made-up and you will not be refunded any amount.

  4. IBT tutors may leave the session after 15 minutes if you have not arrived and this is deemed a non-refundable session.

Confidentiality and Data Protection

  1. IBT reserves the right to collect data and information that is deemed reasonably necessary to conduct our services

  2. All data collected by IBT will remain fully confidential and within the confines of the company. This may include:

    1. ​​Your name and, if applicable, the student’s name;

    2. Email address;

    3. Phone or mobile number;

    4. Credit card information;

    5. Electronic funds transfer or bank details;

    6. Your school;

    7. Your address or location;

    8. Academic records including reports, test results or scores;

    9. Work submitted to IBT or tutors;

    10. Your academic subjects;

    11. Usage data;

    12. IP address;

    13. Device type and browser; and

    14. Software usage.

  3. Any IB work will be held and not shared until the student graduates and then deleted to uphold academic integrity

 

Liability

  1. IBT provides no warranty or assurance regarding the performance academically given the numerous external factors in this outcome. Our tutors will always endeavour to provide the best opportunities for you to reach your IB goals and continually improve your performance.

  2. IBT accepts no liability for any damage suffered as a result of our negligence.

  3. You understand that IBT uses third-party software to facilitate tutoring. You accept any risks with this software that IBT has no control over.

  4. Any testimonials demonstrated are purely the thoughts of these individuals and do not guarantee the same experience for you.

  5. If any part of this agreement is later found to be void, or illegal, all other clauses remain active and unaffected.

 

Termination and Suspension

  1. IBT reserves the right to terminate a contract at any time, if it is deemed that one of our tutors or employees has been physically or mentally abused or mistreated in any way.

 

IB Affiliation

  1. IBT is not officially affiliated with the International Baccalaureate “IB” and any use of this term is purely to describe the services being offered by IBT
